Most guys aren't like him, but you should enjoy it and learn from it he sounds like a great man. Its not weird, its just not normal, which is sad. Its not weird at all, It makes everybody feel closer and more like a family. Sounds like he is a good dad to you, and your returning it. It doesn't sound like much will change, in the way he cares for all of your family. You can be adopted until you are 18. He can adopt you, if he wanted to, and it was okay with everybody. The only difference is, he would be your legal guardian , and as such would have full parental rights. The only way to know is to ask if he will adopt you
